Severe weather recently wiped out poultry operations at J and J Farms in Stewart, Georgia.
Two huge chicken houses were destroyed, killing hundreds of chickens. A storm earlier this year also destroyed Ammon’s other two chicken houses.
“I don’t think there is a spot on this farm that hasn’t been touched by it today,” said owner Joe Ammons. “I’m sad, like I say, you been doing something 30 years and it gets destroyed like this, yes there is sad moment.”
The owner is now considering retirement from the business and doesn’t have plans to rebuild the damaged chicken houses. Fortunately for him, his home didn’t suffer any damage from the storm.
