Chicken Development Project to Benefit Sorsogon Women

The government has allocated around one million pesos for livelihood project in Sorsogon.

The Department of Agriculture said the project is to produce 13,405 chicken heads annually.

“The live native chicken production project that will be produced by the breeding stock for the first to third cycle will be marketed at PHP120 per kg. Native chickens are easy to rear, are adapted to local conditions, are prolific breeders, and command a good price in the market,” Emily Bordado said.

Chosen women are victims of typhoon and the project is to help them raise additional Php500 of daily earning from Php200.

It is part of the Philippine Rural Development Project, aided by the World Bank.
