China Imposes Higher Tariffs to Brazil

After finding out that Brazil dumping issue on its poultry exportation to China, the Chinese government has imposed almost double of the tariff to Brazil to protect its local poultry industry. 

The Ministry of Commerce said that the dumping record has impaired China’s poultry industry. This is why an increase from 18.8% to 38.4% of tariff was imposed.

China is Brazil’s second largest importer of poultry, next to Saudi Arabia, accounting to 760 million tons of poultry meat.

Japan was the second largest client of Brazil but was overtaken by China with an increase of 7.5% exported in 2017.
